Embrace the Unknown: How Uncertainty Can Be a Friend in Disguise

If you’ve ever been through a phase where you felt stuck or are currently in one..
where you no longer feeling like your old self and are in a void,
where things around you are breaking down..
And you're not sure how to get through or what’s happening, this is for you ❤️

Uncertainty is not easy to get through.
It's chaotic.
It's confusing.
It feels never ending.
It keeps making everything difficult to process.
Nothing feels easy.
Everything goes for a toss.
There seems to be no end to this.
You don't know what's happening with you.
Or why is it happening with you.
Is it happening for you?
Is there something in here that you should look at differently?
Is there something for you in this haze?
But why is it so dark?
Why can't you see clearly?
Why can't anyone help you see?
Is there anyone who can?
You hear a voice.
You wonder where it comes from.
You hear it again.
A small faint voice whispering that you'll get through.
It just doesn't feel possible.
When will this end?
There seems to be no end.
You look as hard as you can through the haze.
But looking doesn't help.
The voice speaks again.. “Stop” it says.
You keep trying harder.
“Stop this”, you hear a slight whisper.
You keep pushing harder.
You keep looking.
For anything that shows up in this uncertainty.
You see a small opening and rush as though this was everything you were looking for.
But it's too small.
It needs you to clear something to move through it.
You're not ready.
You want to be as you are.
You are not ready to leave a part of you behind in this haze.
Uncertainty seems to be winning.
The voice says, “stop and let go.”
You are scared.
The voice says, “you'll be fine. Just let go.”
You are not ready you think.
But you also don't know who you are in the dark anymore.
You're not you anymore.
You've been changing.
The voice says..
“It's time. Drop YOU.
Move ahead.
What you drop is not going to serve you anymore. You don't need it where you're going.”
You see the opening, badly wanting to go through but also scared of leaving YOU behind.
This is everything you have ever known. How can you leave it behind.
The voice says “it served it's purpose. It's got you here. It won't get you beyond this. “
You feel the fear leaving you.
“Are you sure” - you ask.
The opening glows in response.
The voice says nothing.
You are being pulled to the opening like a moth to the flame.
You feel the old you slipping away.
Dropping. Shedding.
You let go with a final breath. Let it all drop with love. And gratitude.
You move towards the opening.
And you get through.
The haze lifts.
The voice is stronger.
Everything is still the same.
But you have changed.
Uncertainty is your friend.
Embrace the uncertainty.
It's bringing you, closer to you.

I wrote this when I was going through a void. When the old me was shedding and the new me wasn’t fully here yet.
And in that integration phase between the old and the new, the call to let the old you go is high.
One you can’t ignore.
And my suggestion for when you’re moving through this uncertainty is to love yourself.
As much as you can.
Be compassionate and love yourself through the uncertainty ❤️
Love,
Reshma
